Byron Bay

The Byron Shire is located in the sub tropical North East of New South Wales, 800km north of Sydney and 180km south of Brisbane.

Byron Bay has undergone many transitions since the 60's. In the last 40 years, Byron Bay has grown from a small sea side town into a popular beach get-away. Renowned for its surfing beaches and beautiful rainforests, Byron Bay today enjoys a relaxed and informal lifestyle that has become a favourite for many people from all walks of life and from all over the planet.

About 1,700 people live in this town at the mouth of the Brunswick River.

Situated 20 km north of Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads is a quiet fishing village with beautiful beaches and a river meandering through the town. Brunswick has its own fishing fleet and boat harbour where you can buy fresh fish daily.
